(Normal, IL) SIEC ISBE announces its call for proposals for its 95th annual International SIEC ISBE conference to be held July 29 to August 2, 2024 on the campus of Illinois State University in the USA.

The theme of the conference is “The New Normal in Business Education.”

Proposals may be entered in four categories: workshops, presentations, poster presentations, and a professional development panel regarding artificial intelligence. Conference proposals may be submitted online here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfQBjL0S7cPUfL3vQiUFEZxULcqQHQsLBxkKEEv3-F1a2z9iA/viewform.

There will be a separate call for research papers to be published in a special edition of the SIEC ISBE international journal, International Journal for Business Education (IJBE) - https://ir.library.illinoisstate.edu/ijbe/.

Conference registration is required for all presenters. More information about the conference is available at www.siec-isbe.org and www.siec-usa.org.

A proposed conference workshop must address the conference theme, is limited to a 75-minute session including a 20-30 minute introduction with the remainder of the time an interactive discussion/activity with participants.

A proposed presentation can address the conference theme or related topics relevant for business educators (full paper research track or teaching practicum track), is limited to 45 minutes, includes a 30-40 minute presentation followed by brief Q&A.

Proposed posters can be research or practice-based, are of a topic of immediate interest to participants, and include a short presentation.

Proposed participation in the interactive five-member panel discussion about artificial intelligence includes information about how AI relates to teaching and education (such as policies, regulations, legal issues, project ideas). Each participant presents for 5-10 minutes plus time for questions.

In addition, SIEC ISBE issues a call for full-paper research presentations that align with the conference theme including artificial intelligence, disruptive technologies, virtual reality, engagement, societal impact, and similar topics will be given first consideration. Submitters may submit a completed research project following submission guidelines for International Journal for Business Education or submit an extended abstract (include objective, methods, results, conclusions, and bibliography). Submission guidelines for full papers can be found here. If submitting a structured abstract, the full paper must be submitted no later than October 1, 2024, for publication consideration in the special Conference Edition of the International Journal for Business Education. To learn more about structured abstracts, visit this link from the University of Melbourne or this link from the IEEE Professional Communication Society. Only full papers submitted by the submission deadline of February 29, 2024 will be considered for the Empirical Research Award at the Conference. All accepted papers will be published in a special Conference Edition of the International Journal for Business Education. Full papers must be submitted using this following submission link.

All conference presenters must register for the conference and be members of SIEC-ISBE to be able to present at the conference (which requires home country or international chapter membership). If membership and registration are not completed by June 30, 2024, then the submitter's accepted submission will be removed from the program for SIEC-2024.
