Dear SIEC-USA chapter member
Season's Greetings to each of you! We have all experienced a different 2020, and I am sure we have all had to make accommodations in many ways for changes in both our personal and work lives. Of course, you most likely recall that the SIEC-2020-Conference (Trieste, Italy) had to be postponed as determined by the Executive Board, and has been re-scheduled for the first week of August 2021 (specific dates and times will soon follow in early 2021). Those who are allowed to travel may attend in person in Trieste, Italy; however, all presentations and conference program talks will be held virtually (most likely via ZOOM) either in Trieste or wherever the presenter happens to be in the world! Due to continued Covid precautions, it is expected that our SIEC-2021-Conference in Trieste will be scaled back with limited social, educational, and cultural visits.
Please note that the SIEC Executive Committee and the Professional Development Committee have extended proposal considerations until January 31, 2021. You have an opportunity yet to get your proposal in as soon as possible and receive academic credit, professional development points, or most importantly the benefit of presenting and receiving feedback alongside your international colleagues.
Proposals submitted for the 2020 conference need not be re-submitted for the 2021 Conference. The theme remains the same "Sustainability Meets Business Education." If not previously submitted, your presentation proposals will be gratefully received and carefully considered. Please contact me if you have questions or concerns.
